Nathalie Dufresne-Meek is the A/Chief of Staff to the Commissioner of the Correctional Service of Canada. Nathalie has been active in the disability management field for close to 20 years. She began her career with the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) as a Parole Officer in the early ‘90s. While completing her Masters degree in Applied Criminology at the University of Ottawa, she spent some time teaching at the undergraduate level of the criminology department. She then joined the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) as a claims adjudicator in 1995, and then progressed to an Account Manager position, where she supported large construction employers with cost reduction strategies, focused on improving accident prevention and return to work. Nathalie then took on the management of a WSIB small business team, dedicated to working with small business employers, developing accident prevention approaches to assist them in reducing costs, adjudicating claims and medically managing files. In 2006, Nathalie returned to the CSC to coordinate the return to work program. She is currently one of two executive champions for CSC’s Your Professional Network, an Employee Assistance Program Referral Agent, a Positive Space Champion and a representative on the Employment Equity and Diversity Committee. Nathalie is the recipient of the 2015 Donald R. Yeomans Executive Award for Values and Ethics.
