Our Team
Derek Shogren currently serves as the Program Coordinator for CIPSRT, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. Derek is a U of R alumni, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Police Studies.
Prior to his current position, Derek dedicated seven years of his career as a Wildland Firefighter in British Columbia. Additionally, he served as a Volunteer Firefighter for eight years, cultivated a deep understanding of public safety. Before joining CIPSRT, Derek spent nine years in the University of Regina’s Housing Services, where he honed his leadership skills and passion for community development. Progressing to the role of Manager of Residence Life, Derek oversaw various facets of student life, including staff training, community development programs, and the development/implementation of student-based policies.
