Self-Assessment Tools

These self-assessment tools are designed to support reflection on your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, and may help you notice patterns in your behaviour. They may also help you identify signs and symptoms associated with common mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, posttraumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, stress, and risky alcohol use. Self-assessments are intended to provide insight, not a diagnosis, but they can be a helpful first step in considering whether additional information or support might be useful.

A self‑assessment is not the appropriate tool in crisis situations or when your safety may be at risk.

  • If you are in immediate danger or are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 9-1-1.
  • If you are having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please call or text 9-8-8. Canada’s Suicide Crisis Helpline is available 24/7.
  • For assistance with ongoing mental health concerns, consider reaching out to a primary care provider or a qualified mental health professional.
